The Lifelong Music scholarship was inspired by the challenge and initial gift from a former director of Eugene Symphonic Band, Eric Hammer, in 1994. The purpose of the annual $500 award for 3 years (out of 4) is to help encourage lifelong participation in instrumental music, specifically concert bands or wind ensembles. This scholarship will help pay tuition or fees of a student who makes the commitment to continue playing in college large group ensembles and who is likely to continue playing as an adult. They need not be music majors, and may attend any college or university and be a graduating high school senior. Click below to access the application and corresponding information. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2020.
